A New Look For Cobalt Sky

As with probably every other business in the country, Cobalt Sky have found the last few months a challenge. We’re usually a very social, office-centric company, something that in my time as Managing Director I have always encouraged. Obviously, this has had to change as we’ve all been dealing with the fallout from the COVID-19 crisis. Fortunately, we already had the infrastructure in place to allow our teams to work from home and I’ve been really impressed with how well people have adapted and the great standard of work everyone has been putting in from their makeshift home offices.

On a personal level I’ve found adjusting to working from home pretty tough. I love the atmosphere in our office and genuinely enjoy coming to work. Like lots of other people in the country, my usual childcare options have vanished meaning I’ve had to split my time running a company and being a full-time parent (and some-time teacher!). Now that we’re able to slowly start opening the office again, (with strict hygiene and social distancing measures in place of course) I’m hoping that things will start edging back towards normality.

What exactly have Cobalt Sky been working on over the lockdown period then? Whilst both our Data Processing and Data Collection teams have had plenty of production work, we have had fewer projects than we’re used to, but there are always internal projects on the list for people to get stuck into. Our Data Collection manager Alastair has been working on major improvements to our mailout system, implementing an entirely new and much more powerful sending engine. Some additional “downtime” from full on production has also allowed Neil in his role as Head of Training and Development to spend time focusing on improving the skillsets of our teams. We’ve also had the time to fulfill one of the key marketing objects for the year, upgrading our website – a big win for us as it was something we had been meaning to get round to for years.

At the start of the year we made the decision to work with a website development company to revamp our online presence. As you’re reading this on the new website, you’ll no doubt have noticed our new design. It was really important to us to have a clean and professional look so hopefully that comes across as you browse through. One of the elements we were keen to bring to our website was a ‘Meet the Team’ page to help clients put faces to the names of our team. Although we were changing the website and updating parts of our look, we still wanted to keep a connection to our history and heritage. We thought a ‘Timeline’ stretching back to 1989 when we started business would be a great way to do this and it proved a lot of fun digging through old photos and materials. I want to say a massive thank you to the clients that provided us with testimonials to use on our ‘Clients’ page. We’re extremely proud of the relationships we build with our clients and we think their comments about us are a testament to that.

We know that some of you have experienced similar challenges during this time, and we wish you all the best as we slowly start to regain some much needed normality. If you need us for anything then just let us know – we’re here and ready to go.
